Chevron has announced major leadership changes ahead of its CEO transition. Eimear Bonner, currently the company's Chief Financial Officer, will take over as president of its oil, products, and gas business effective January 1. She succeeds Mark Nelson, who will step down from the role but remain as vice chairman to focus on strategy and business development.

Jeff Gustavson, who leads Chevron’s new energies business, will replace Bonner as CFO. The reshuffling follows CEO Mike Wirth’s December statement that he is in discussions with the board about succession and does not plan to serve more than 10 years in the role.

Bonner brings extensive experience to her new position, having previously served as Chevron’s first female chief technology officer and as general director of its joint venture Tengizchevroil in Kazakhstan. Gustavson, meanwhile, has overseen the company’s initial steps into powering data centers with natural gas.
