Chevron Stock Dips as Oil Prices Fluctuate Amid Global Tensions
Chevron shares dropped by 1% on Tuesday, trading as low as $202.70 and closing at $204.28.
The stock traded approximately 5.87 million shares, a decline of 45% from its average session volume of 10.66 million shares.
Analysts point to Chevron's global scale, low leverage, dividend profile, and durable profitability as reasons why it is a preferred energy investment compared to Occidental Petroleum.
The company also has a strong refining performance, according to TD Cowen, which raised its price target on Chevron to $215. The firm expects Chevron to exceed third-quarter earnings estimates due to this performance.
