Chevron's Greek Seismic Surveys on Track for December Start
Chevron's seismic surveys in Greek waters are on track to begin this December. The US energy giant plans to operate in four blocks, conducting both 2D and 3D seismic surveys before deciding whether to proceed with drilling.
The Ministry of Environment confirmed that the project is progressing according to schedule, despite a demanding timeline. Chevron's head for Greece, Beatrice Bienvenu, met with Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou in New York to discuss the next steps in the project.
Papastavrou emphasized that the Greek government aims to mature the hydrocarbons market while adhering to environmental requirements and safety conditions. The meeting comes as ExxonMobil, another major energy player, prepares to operate an exploration well in Block 2 of the Ionian Sea next year.
