Chinese Companies Redefine Global Leadership with AI-Driven Values
China's business community is abuzz with discussion about going overseas, and for good reason. The country's companies have been expanding globally for decades, with many achieving top-tier status. However, there are still challenges to overcome, particularly in adapting to local cultures and ways of doing business.
A former Procter & Gamble executive praised the company's approach to business, saying it teaches skills in every aspect of business, including sales, brand management, supply chain, and career planning. While Chinese companies have made significant progress, none have yet reached this level in all respects.
Chinese companies are no longer just exporting products; they're also exporting innovation, technology, business models, knowledge, standards, and capital. This has led to a qualitative change in their internationalization. Moreover, Chinese AI large language models, such as DeepSeek, Kimi, and Qwen, have begun to revolutionize the industry.
These models are open-source or open-weight, charging significantly less per token than leading US frontier models. However, in terms of overall performance, the gap between Chinese and American models is not substantial. The share of Chinese models is increasing rapidly, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises and in the Global South.
