Circle Unveils Arc Blockchain with Major Financial Backing
Circle Internet Group has unveiled Arc, a new blockchain designed specifically for stablecoin-driven transactions. Built from scratch to handle cross-border settlements and tokenized real-world assets, Arc is expected to give Circle's USDC stablecoin an edge over its decentralized rival OUSD.
Arc has already attracted major financial institutions such as BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, Standard Chartered, MoneyGram, and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. These backing companies are drawn to Arc because it offers stability, speed, and flexibility not found in other blockchain networks.
Unlike Ethereum or Solana, users do not need to hold volatile native tokens on Arc. Instead, all transactions are funded by Circle's USDC, which is pegged to the U.S. dollar and backed by cash and U.S. Treasuries.
