Cleveland Clinic Deploys $100 Million Quantum Computer with IBM Partnership
Cleveland Clinic has completed a $100 million partnership with IBM to establish a quantum computer within its Lerner Research Institute. The system, which took nine months to build, is housed in an 11-foot-tall glass cube designed to minimize external vibrations and maintain the delicate quantum states of the qubits.
The Clinic's chief research information officer, Dr. Lara Jehi, compared the construction process to human gestation, saying 'Like all babies, it's going to evolve and we will figure out things with it that we had no idea we could.'
Jehi and her team are using this technology to accelerate medical research, focusing on applying quantum capabilities to complex challenges in healthcare.
