Coca-Cola and IRCTC Tackle Waste with Innovative Public Projects
Coca-Cola India and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have joined forces to bring waste-to-value solutions to public settings. This initiative follows the launch of India's first branded train, the Sprite Tejas Express.
The partnership demonstrates how post-consumer waste can be repurposed into meaningful applications in prominent public spaces. A key feature of this initiative is a specially designed flag created using recycled PET bottles for the Sprite Tejas Express launch ceremony.
Additionally, durable public infrastructure has been installed at Lucknow Station, where benches manufactured using recycled plastic waste have been placed. Each bench repurposes approximately 45 kg of post-consumer packaging waste.
Coca-Cola India's Vice President - Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability, Devyani RL Rana, emphasized the importance of this initiative: 'In partnership with IRCTC, we are bringing practical waste-to-value solutions directly into public settings by transforming post-consumer waste into high-utility assets at prominent transit hubs. We are turning responsible waste management into a practical, scalable reality.'
