Coca-Cola Blocks Religious Phrases From Personalized Cans
Coca-Cola's 'Share a Coke' personalization tool has landed the company in hot water after some users discovered that religious phrases, including names of Jesus, were blocked from being used on personalized cans.
A user named Ryan Haff demonstrated this issue live on Instagram, showing how the preview feature did not work when he wrote 'Jesus is King' or 'Jesus is Good', instead receiving an error message.
This has sparked a backlash among Christians, with many calling for a boycott of the soda company.
Coca-Cola responded to the criticism, stating that they have a separate review process for all religious phrases and that there was also a technical issue affecting the personalization preview tool.
