Coca-Cola Bottling Company Relocates HQ to Birmingham's Kingston Neighborhood
Coca-Cola Bottling Company has relocated its headquarters from just north of Birmingham's airport to a new facility in the Kingston neighborhood, a move that is expected to bring economic growth and job creation to the area.
The company, one of the largest privately-held companies in Alabama and a major Coca-Cola bottler, spent over $300 million on the project, which includes an updated distribution system and brings all 750 employees under one roof.
'This building is a sales center, so this is where all of the distribution, merchandising, sales organization comes from,' said CEO Mike Suco. 'So they will leave here every day with products on the trucks, we'll deliver that to many thousands of customers around our footprint.'
The new facility officially opens for business on September 14.
