Coca-Cola Brings 'Paint the Nation' Mural to Downtown Charleston
A new mural is set to be painted on the Charleston Crab House building in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. The mural is part of Coca-Cola's 'Paint the Nation' campaign and will feature local landmarks such as the Ravenel Bridge, palmetto trees, magnolias, gas lanterns, a great blue heron, and historic homes along Rainbow Row.
The design was created by local artist Allison Amory, who is also co-owner of Girls Who Paint Murals. The mural will incorporate Coca-Cola branding, but it won't dominate the artwork. According to Scott Larymore, owner of Charleston Crab House, the mural is expected to start in the next few weeks and remain long-term.
The 'Paint the Nation' campaign aims to create a unique piece of public art for each state in the US. Charleston's Crab House location is the only site in South Carolina selected for this initiative. The new artwork is seen as a way to spotlight local creativity and boost foot traffic in the historic market area.
