Coca-Cola has marked its 75th year of operations in Nigeria with a focus on sustainability initiatives. The company's activities have extended beyond beverage production to economic empowerment and community development projects.

The Coca-Cola System, comprising Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited, Nigerian Bottling Company, and The Coca-Cola Foundation, said it had implemented various programmes across different regions. In Maiduguri, water access projects were undertaken through the Strengthening Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programme.

Boreholes and handwashing stations were rehabilitated in six communities, including an IDP camp, two health facilities, and a school. This has provided safer water for over 16,000 people, with local women engaged as hygiene promoters and youths trained as maintenance artisans.

In Imo State, Coca-Cola helped restore 15,000 cubic meters of riverbank vegetation along the Otamiri River, safeguarding water supplies for 25 communities. Community committees were also trained to manage these systems.
