Coca-Cola Eyes India Bottling Unit Public Listing
The Coca-Cola Company is reportedly considering taking its largest Indian bottler, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd., public in an initial public offering (IPO). According to sources, draft offer papers could be filed as soon as December 2026, although plans are still fluid.
The proposed listing would be structured largely around existing shareholders, with the company aiming to raise fresh capital by selling a portion of their holdings. This move aligns with The Coca-Cola Company's broader strategy to transition towards an asset-light model, where bottling and distribution are handled by independent partners while the parent focuses on brands, marketing, and innovation.
The company has been gradually reducing its direct ownership of capital-intensive bottling assets in India through refranchising. In 2025, it sold a minority stake in Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings, the parent of HCCB, to Jubilant Beverages Limited, part of the Jubilant Bhartia Group.
