Coca-Cola Focuses on Digital Execution Under New CEO
Coca-Cola's new CEO Henrique Braun outlined a steady hand at the top and a growth plan focused on digital execution during the Barclays 19th Annual Global Consumer Conference. Braun, who has spent 30 years in the Coca-Cola system, emphasized the importance of staying close to consumers, embedding digital across the business, and maintaining a culture of constructive discontent.
The company is navigating an uneven consumer backdrop but sees progress in volume, pricing, innovation, and digital execution. Braun pointed out that digital is being treated as a companywide capability, not a separate business, with AI, QR codes, and first-party data at the center.
Coca-Cola aims for balanced growth over time, with volume and price mix expected to contribute together, even if quarterly results vary. The company operates in 33 million outlets globally, with digital platforms covering about two-thirds of that outlet reach. Braun emphasized the importance of meeting low-income consumers where they are while still creating premium options for less price-sensitive buyers.
Looking ahead, Braun said Coca-Cola will evolve through better execution of existing strengths, rather than transforming itself completely. The next three to five years should bring more detail in the 'get more from more' strategy across countries and categories, deeper digital integration in consumer, customer, and enterprise interactions, and a stronger culture of constructive discontent.
