Coca-Cola HBC Raises Forecasts as World Cup Demand Accelerates
Coca-Cola HBC, the Switzerland-based bottling partner of Coca-Cola in Central and Eastern Europe and Africa, has lifted its annual profit growth forecast. The company now expects an organic operating profit growth of 8% to 10% for fiscal 2026, which is higher than its previous forecast of 7% to 10%. This revised forecast comes as sales related to the World Cup accelerated demand in the region.
The World Cup partnership with Coca-Cola led to special-edition packages that tend to have a lasting impact beyond the event. According to CEO Zoran Bogdanovic, these partnerships 'enhance brand equity.' Consumer sentiment has also remained resilient despite geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic headwinds, he said.
Coca-Cola HBC is 85% hedged on key commodities such as sugar, aluminium, gas oil, corn, and plastics. However, CFO Anastasis Stamoulis noted a 'certain level of pressure' with fuel utilities. The company's comparable operating profit for the six months ended 3 July surpassed expectations at €760.1 million.
Coca-Cola HBC is on track to complete its acquisition of its African counterpart in the second half, as announced earlier.
