Coca-Cola Philippines is expanding its PET bottle collection program to Biñan City in Laguna. The initiative, called Tapon to Ipon, aims to make recycling more accessible and strengthen the recycling chain by involving neighborhood retailers.

The program starts with 50 store owners across 10 barangays, with five participating retailers in each area. Collected bottles will be sent to PETValue Philippines in Cavite for recycling.

Sari-sari stores and other retailers act as collection hubs where residents can bring used clear PET bottles of any brand. Participating retailers earn points that can be redeemed for products, online shopping vouchers, food products, or utility-bill credits.

The city government of Biñan will mobilize local officials and communities to support the program, while Coca-Cola Philippines will provide collection tools and kits. BEST Inc. will assist with operations and collections, PASCO will help engage retailers, and DILG will monitor program outcomes.
