Consumer Goods Giants Shuffle Leadership Amid Tariff Pressures
The global consumer goods industry has seen significant CEO changes in recent times, driven by factors such as tariff pressures and choppy consumer spending. In 2025 and 2026, several major companies have announced leadership reshuffles, including Mattel, General Mills, Hormel Foods, Domino's Pizza, Tyson Foods, Wendy's, Lululemon Athletica, Best Buy, Conagra, Dollar General, Kroger, Heineken, Coty, Kraft Heinz, Altria, Coca-Cola, and Walmart.
Among the notable changes is Mattel's appointment of Roger Lynch as CEO, effective immediately. General Mills has also named Dana McNabb as its new CEO, with his tenure set to begin on January 1, 2027. Hormel Foods' John Ghingo will take over as CEO from July 28, while Domino's Pizza's Joe Jordan will assume the role on October 1.
Other companies that have undergone leadership changes include Lululemon Athletica, which picked a former top Nike executive as its new CEO to revive its struggling business. Best Buy has named Jason Bonfig as its new CEO, replacing Corie Barry, effective October 31. Conagra Brands' J.M. Smucker executive John Brase will succeed Sean Connolly as CEO.
The changes reflect the evolving landscape of the consumer goods industry, with companies seeking to adapt to shifting market conditions and consumer preferences.
