Corvallis Man Arrested After Shots Fired Near Home Depot
Corvallis police responded to multiple reports of shots fired near The Home Depot on August 20. The incident occurred around 11:37 a.m. in the area of 1780 Northeast Four Acre Place.
Several people reported hearing gunshots, and one witness provided a description of the person believed to be involved. Officers were already nearby handling an unrelated call and responded quickly. They set up a safety perimeter and began searching the vacant area south of The Home Depot.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office assisted with the search, providing a canine team and drone unit. Alejandro Aguilar Oseguera, 21, was found and caught around 12:29 p.m. Police do not believe he was shooting at a specific person.
Oseguera was arrested for criminal trespass, unlawful use of a weapon, and littering. He is in custody, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The Corvallis Police Department thanked the Benton County Sheriff's Office for its help and the witnesses who provided information during the incident.
