Couple Marks 50 Years Together with Big Macs under Golden Arches

A metro Atlanta couple is celebrating 50 years of marriage at their favorite McDonald's restaurant. Mike and Susan Burks tied the knot in 1976 and frequently visited the Northside Parkway location during the early years of their relationship.

'When we first got married, we lived around the corner in Vinings, and Susan didn't cook much,' Mike Burks joked. 'She sort of does now.' Their love story is filled with Big Macs, as they would often eat at McDonald's twice a day, five times a week.

The couple credits their long-lasting marriage to a simple secret: 'Don't give up, and lots of laughs through the tears.'
