D23 Celebrates Walt Disney's Enduring Legacy
The Walt Disney Company celebrated the life and legacy of its founder, Walt Disney, at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The event marked a milestone, 125 years since Walt Disney's birth in 1901.
A panel discussion titled 'Walt Disney, 125 Years of Inspiration' featured Walt Disney's granddaughter, Joanna Miller, who spoke about her grandfather's love for his family and the impact he had on people around the world. She shared stories of how Walt would take her to Disneyland and let her run around while he signed autographs.
The panel also included Disney Legends Bob Gurr and Floyd Norman, as well as iconic former Imagineer Tania Norris. They spoke about their interactions with Walt and how he inspired them in their careers. According to Gurr, Walt was known for his kindness and consideration towards others, and he never talked down to people.
