Entergy, an energy provider in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, has seen revenue from data centers offset costs for its customers. This is thanks to a program called Fair Share Plus, which requires large data center customers like Amazon to pay 100% of their own interconnection and usage costs.

The revenue generated by Amazon's hyperscale facility in Mississippi has eliminated a nearly $5 monthly bill increase for residential customers.

According to Entergy, the program will deliver approximately $7 billion over the next two decades to 2.3 million customers across the three states.

Data centers are also contributing to local communities through various initiatives, such as energy efficiency programs and job creation.
