DBS Ditches Qantas Frequent Flyer Partnership, Limits Transfer Options

DBS has quietly ended its partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer, leaving cardholders without another option to transfer their points. The move affects DBS's credit card holders who had been able to convert their points into Qantas Points since 2019.

This development comes after a MileLion community member noticed the removal of Qantas Frequent Flyer from DBS's rewards portal earlier this week, prompting an investigation by the bank. A spokesperson confirmed that the removal was permanent and not just a temporary glitch.

DBS cardholders are now limited to transferring their points to KrisFlyer and Asia Miles, although it is likely that most will opt for KrisFlyer due to its wider redemption options. The removal of Qantas Frequent Flyer may be attributed to the low take-up rate among DBS customers.

Those who wish to earn Qantas Points can do so through other programmes such as American Express, Citi and HSBC, which offer transfer options. Qantas Points can be redeemed for various flights, including short-haul economy class on Qantas and American Airlines, or for Oneworld round-the-world bookings.
