DE-CIX Boosts Azure Connectivity with ExpressRoute Metro Rollout

DE-CIX has expanded its connectivity to Microsoft Azure through its ExpressRoute Metro rollout, enhancing private connections across cities in North America, Europe, and Asia. The expansion provides dual-homed connections between two distinct locations within the same city, boosting availability for sensitive AI workloads and critical resources.

The move adds to DE-CIX's existing 29 on-ramps to Azure, which span over 24 cities. Sudha Mahajan, Partner for Azure Cloud and AI at Microsoft, stated that connecting directly to Azure ExpressRoute Metro on the DE-CIX platform offers a low latency path to the Microsoft network.

Azure ExpressRoute Metro solutions enable private, dedicated connections between enterprise infrastructure and Azure environments. This allows users to set up dual-homed links, providing redundancy and stable connectivity within the same metropolitan area.
