DHL-SIA Partnership Secures Boeing 777 Freighters for Intercontinental Trade

DHL Express and Singapore Airlines have renewed their partnership for five Boeing 777 freighters based at Singapore Changi Airport. The agreement allows SIA pilots to continue operating the aircraft, while SIA engineers handle maintenance.

Under this deal, the freighters will support DHL's intercontinental air network, connecting its South Asia Hub in Singapore with key destinations across the United States. Travis Cobb, Executive Vice President for Network Operations and Aviation at DHL Express, praised the renewal as a testament to the company's commitment to maintaining global trade capacity.

The five Boeing 777 freighters can carry up to 102 tonnes of cargo each and are among the largest and most capable twin-engine freighters in the world. Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Commercial Officer of Singapore Airlines, emphasized that the partnership reflects the strength of combining SIA's expertise with DHL's logistics network.

The renewed agreement underscores both companies' confidence in the sustained growth of international trade and the essential role reliable air connectivity plays in supporting global supply chains.
