Dimon-Backed Industry Group Tackles AI Risks Across Critical Infrastructure
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is leading an industry-wide effort to address risks posed by artificial intelligence (AI) in critical infrastructure and financial systems. This initiative, which started in July, aims to develop a shared understanding of how AI is being used, the risks it poses, and the necessary safeguards.
Dimon has personally reached out to CEOs of other large and major regional banks and IT companies to enlist them in the initiative, which is expanding from the Alliance for Critical Infrastructure (ACI) that JPMorgan helped found. The ACI has been working with government officials to identify core AI and technology risks, share information, and help solve problems as they emerge.
Dimon's views on the economy, regulation, and technology are closely followed, and he has been among a small group of CEOs publicly warning about the risks posed by advanced AI systems. He has expressed concerns about the potential for cyberattacks and vulnerabilities across critical infrastructure and financial systems.
