Dimon: Financial Education and Mentorship Key to Success for Black Entrepreneurs
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon recently visited Modesto as part of his bank's 16th annual summer bus tour. The visit came as many Black entrepreneurs in Sacramento struggle with access to capital for their businesses.
Dimon emphasized that financing is only one aspect of a larger equation, and that financial education, mentorship, and business guidance are equally important for building lasting companies.
He noted that schools should introduce lessons on basic financial skills, such as saving money and managing debt, to prepare students for careers. Dimon also encouraged parents to teach children how to manage money responsibly from an early age.
