UK Workers Prioritize Wellbeing for True Belonging

According to Procter & Gamble UK's latest research, employees in the UK are more likely than ever to feel a sense of belonging at work. The survey found that 82% of workers reported feeling part of their team, but what does this really mean? One-third of respondents said that feeling like their wellbeing genuinely matters is key to belonging.

The business impact of prioritizing employee wellbeing cannot be overstated. Three-quarters of UK workers say they would invest years of their career with an employer who makes them feel valued. In fact, nearly six in 10 employees would leave a job if they didn't feel part of a team. This suggests that wellbeing is not just a nice-to-have, but a must-have for businesses looking to retain top talent.

So, how can managers champion wellbeing and create environments where people can thrive? The research identified five key steps: recognizing the difference between commitment and burnout, learning to spot early signs of burnout, asking specific questions rather than just 'how are you?', making flexibility part of everyday management, and leading by example.
