Dimon Meets Sitharaman Amid Bullish Outlook for Indian Equities
JPMorgan Chase Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon met with Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Mumbai during the 11th edition of the J.P. Morgan India Investor Conference.
The meeting comes at a time when global investors are closely tracking India's economic outlook, corporate earnings, and domestic demand.
Sitharaman addressed the conference and participated in a fireside chat with Sajjid Chinoy, Head of Asia Economics at JPMorgan. However, neither Sitharaman's office nor JPMorgan has publicly disclosed the details of their discussion.
JPMorgan has maintained a constructive view on Indian equities and the country's earnings outlook. The bank has retained its 27,000 base-case target for the Nifty 50, with bull and bear cases at 30,000 and 20,500, respectively.
