US Stock Futures Rise as Trump-Xi Summit Looms
The US stock futures rose overnight ahead of a key summit between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, set to take place in Washington.
The Dow futures climbed 0.27%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.34%, and the Nasdaq-100 edged 0.54% higher at 10:03 PM EDT.
The summit is expected to draw top technology CEOs, including Microsoft's Satya Nadella and Apple's Tim Cook, who are reportedly set to attend the White House state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sept. 24.
In a related development, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is also expected to meet Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng ahead of the visit.
