Disney Accused of Enabling Sexual Predator on Set of 2001 Movie

Actress Raquel Lee Boileau has filed a negligence suit against Walt Disney Company alleging that she was repeatedly raped, sexually assaulted, and harassed on the set of her 2001 movie Poof Point. The lawsuit claims that Disney knew about the abuse and did nothing to stop it.

The suit alleges that an adult male employee of Disney, identified only as 'John Doe,' engaged in a pattern of sexual abuse against Boileau, who was just 14 years old at the time. According to the filing, this abuse was apparent to other adults on set and that Disney failed to investigate or take action.

Boileau's lawsuit also claims that she was subjected to tirades from Disney executives over her performance, similar to allegations made against film producer Harvey Weinstein. The suit states that this is not an isolated incident, but rather a 'horrifying history' of protecting sexual abusers within the company.

The law firm representing Boileau notes that the recent changes in California's statute of limitations allow for survivors of childhood sexual abuse to file civil claims up until their 40th birthday. This change is significant as it allows Boileau to pursue her claim despite previously being barred by the statute of limitations.
