Disney Animation Studio Experience Comes Alive at Hollywood Studios
The Magic of Disney Animation at Hollywood Studios has finally opened to the public. This new attraction is a love letter to true Disney fans, and it's packed with Easter eggs that will delight visitors of all ages. As you walk through the space, you'll feel like you're stepping into the actual Walt Disney Animation Studios lobby in Burbank.
The first room you'll enter is the Reception Area, which features a stunning paintbrush chandelier that shifts colors as the lighting changes. But don't just look at the ceiling - take a closer look at the Lost and Found Department shelf, where you'll find items 'lost' by Disney characters, including pieces from Tangled.
One of the highlights of this room is Figaro, who's asleep on top of the display and occasionally flicks his tail like he owns the place. You can also spot other treasures, such as The Black Cauldron, The Shepherd's Journal from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Eeyore's tail.
Next up is the Animator's Office, which is set up to look like an actual animator's workspace. Stitch is right in the middle of it, spinning around in his office chair, and you can also spot Genie's lamp puffing out smoke every so often. The desk itself is a piece of history, salvaged from the original Animation Academy that used to be at Hollywood Studios.
The Imagineers have packed this room with nods to Disney movies, including a Donald Duck mirror, a book of caricatures drawn by animators, and even a copy of Rabbit Rabbit, the studio's internal magazine. You can also spot old Disney VHS tapes on the shelves, which will bring back memories for those who grew up watching these classic films.
One of the other areas you won't want to miss is Drawn to Wonderland, which celebrates Mary Blair's visual development work on Alice in Wonderland. This area is a vibrant and colorful space that lets you step right into her artwork, with interactive spots and a Mad Tea Party play area based on her original designs.
Overall, The Magic of Disney Animation is a must-visit for any true Disney fan. With its stunning details and nods to classic films, it's an attraction that will delight visitors of all ages.
