Disney Announces Winter 2028 Skyliner Closure Dates

Walt Disney World has announced that it will close its Skyliner gondola system for routine refurbishment in Winter 2028. The closure is scheduled to take place from January 24, 2028 through February 2, 2028, which is consistent with past precedent.

The Skyliner system-wide closure affects all routes and resorts, including Hollywood Studios and EPCOT theme parks, as well as four resorts: Art of Animation & Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, Riviera Resort, and Caribbean Beach again. The refurbishment will include preventative maintenance on the gondolas.

Disney has learned from past experience and is providing ample advance notice for this closure, unlike in 2024 when the announcement was made less than three months in advance. This year's announcement is being made nearly seventeen months ahead of time.
