Disney Closes Expedition Everest Single-Rider Line Amid Improved Standby Wait Times

Disney World has announced that it will be closing the single-rider line at Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom, effective September 21. This change is due to a new loading procedure that has improved standby wait times, making the single-rider line no longer necessary.

The single-rider line had been a popular option for solo guests and those willing to split up, allowing them to ride the attraction multiple times in an afternoon without waiting in the regular line. However, with the new loading procedure, standby wait times have decreased, eliminating the need for a separate single-rider queue.

Disney has stated that they will continue to offer single rider lines at other attractions, including five others at Walt Disney World, where it still provides a significant time savings. The closure of the Expedition Everest single-rider line is seen as a trade-off, with some guests losing a convenient option for solo visits.
