Disney Confirms More Layoffs Ahead of End-of-Month Restructuring
The Walt Disney Company is planning another round of layoffs in late September, according to industry insider Matthew Belloni's report from Puck News. This news comes on the heels of previous job cuts in April and July, which affected approximately 1,000 employees across various departments.
The latest layoff rumors are focused in HR, product/tech, and other operations functions, not the television division consolidation that many had speculated. Disney declined to comment on the matter.
In August, Disney offered director-level or higher executives a time-limited early retirement package as part of its continued restructuring efforts throughout the year.
