Disney Cuts Guardians of the Galaxy Pre-Show to Stop Guest Jokes
Walt Disney World is making adjustments to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at EPCOT to improve the guest experience. The latest change involves cutting part of the pre-show to reduce off-brand comments from visitors. The pre-show previously included a pause where Terry Crews' character, Centurion Tal Marik, asked guests what they call themselves, inviting sometimes inappropriate responses, particularly from inebriated visitors.
The updated pre-show now features a glitch effect that skips the pause, eliminating the opportunity for guests to shout out answers. This change is expected to decrease disruptive behavior, although it may not stop it entirely. Disney has been testing various queue procedures over the past year to address congestion and improve crowd flow, with the current process involving merging standby and Lightning Lane guests in the holding area before guiding them through the pre-show rooms.
The latest adjustment is part of ongoing efforts to refine the attraction's queue and pre-show experience. While the cut to the pre-show is a minor upgrade, it addresses a recurring issue that has affected the enjoyment of the ride for many guests.
