Disney has addressed rumors that it is buying Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite. Speaking at Bloomberg's Screentime event this week, Disney President and Chief Creative Officer Dana Walden stated that a deal is not currently on the table.

'Those are not the conversations we're having right now,' Walden said.

Despite rumors of a potential acquisition, Disney and Epic Games have a strong partnership. In February 2024, Disney invested $1.5 billion in Epic for an equity stake, with the two companies announcing a new Disney entertainment universe connected to Fortnite.

The partnership will bring together characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Avatar, allowing fans to play, watch, shop, and create in a shared experience.
