Disney Dreamers Academy Expands Program with Boys & Girls Clubs Partnership
The Disney Dreamers Academy has launched its program expansion at the Walt Disney World Clubhouse in Orlando. The event marked one of four activations kicking off this new chapter, with others taking place in Miami, Atlanta, and Houston.
The academy's expansion aims to empower more young people in their communities and at Walt Disney World through mentorship and career development opportunities. This is made possible by a partnership between the Disney Dreamers Academy and Boys & Girls Clubs, which has been ongoing for decades.
The event brought together 50 students from Central Florida, along with community leaders and Disney VoluntEARS. The attendees enjoyed character meet-and-greets, Mickey ear personalization, and other activities. One student, Carlota, shared her enthusiasm about the program, saying 'I feel honored to be here. I'm very happy and excited for everything this program has to offer me.'
The Disney Dreamers Academy has been a signature Walt Disney World youth development program since its launch in 2008. In nearly two decades, it has inspired over 1,800 students from across the country. Alumni have gone on to become entrepreneurs, educators, engineers, artists, healthcare professionals, and community leaders.
