Disney Exec Eric Schrier Steps Down for Producing Role
Eric Schrier is stepping down from his executive role at The Walt Disney Company after more than two decades. He will transition into a new producing partnership with Disney Entertainment Television, allowing him to return to a more creatively focused role while continuing to work with the company.
Schrier was President of Direct-to-Consumer International Originals, Strategic Programming, and Emerging Media, overseeing Disney+ international originals infrastructure and programming slate. He helped expand Disney+ international content lineup to 65 shows across 16 markets during his tenure.
According to Debra O'Connell, Chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, Schrier expressed a desire to return to his creative roots after 26 years with the company. His new role will allow him to maintain a relationship with Disney while pursuing projects from a more creative and entrepreneurial position.
