Disney Expands Magic Kingdom Expansion into Adventureland

Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom is undergoing its largest expansion in history, and it's not just Frontierland that's getting a makeover. According to a public filing on September 21, 2026, Disney has quietly launched a multi-year project in Adventureland.

The Notice of Commencement filed by Disney targets the Adventureland Popcorn Cart area, near The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and the Jungle Cruise. What's significant about this filing is its expiration date: August 2028, nearly two years from its filing date.

Disney has also designated MLC Theming as the contractor for the project. As a thematic specialist, MLC Theming will likely focus on highly detailed enhancements to the Adventureland corridor.

This expansion into Adventureland is part of Disney's broader effort to revamp Magic Kingdom's western quadrant. Frontierland is currently home to massive projects like Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land Beyond Big Thunder Mountain.
