Disney Files Permits for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Spaceship Earth Refurb
Disney has filed new permits for several projects at Walt Disney World in Florida. The permits include work on the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, which is still under refurbishment after a recent announcement. The permit names Buena Vista Construction Company as the contractor for 'construction' and is valid for one year.
Other projects include the Encanto ride building at Animal Kingdom, where InterAmerica Stage will provide 'general construction'. The Spaceship Earth refurbishment has also been filed, with Jon Richards Company contracted to install signage. This comes after Disney announced plans to take the iconic EPCOT ride into the 'internet age and beyond'.
Finally, a permit for demolition at the former Galactic Starcruiser hotel site has been filed by Balfour Beatty Construction LLC. The complex is being repurposed as office space, following its closure in September 2023 after just two years.
