Disney Lands Overall Deal with Shawn Levy

Shawn Levy and his production company, 21 Laps Entertainment, have signed an overall deal with Disney's 20th Television. The deal will take effect in October 2027 and marks a significant move for Levy, who has been based at Netflix since 2017.

The agreement will allow Levy and his team to develop and produce new projects across various platforms for Disney. This is a homecoming of sorts for Levy, as some of his earliest directing credits were on Disney Channel shows The Famous Jett Jackson and So Weird.

Levy expressed his enthusiasm for the deal, stating that he feels a kindred spirit with Disney's storytelling ethos. He also praised Disney president Dana Walden, saying she is 'a formidable, smart and authentic person.'
