Disney Layoffs Continue: More Cuts on the Horizon
Layoffs continue to plague The Walt Disney Company, and it appears that more cuts are on the horizon. A memo from Disney Vice President Horacio Gutierrez suggests that layoffs could happen before September is over.
The memo, sent to the Legal and Global Affairs team on September 18, mentions 'automating certain workflows' and taking a 'dispassionate look at every aspect of how we do our work.' This process will require 'hard choices about where and how we deploy our resources,' including staffing investments.
Gutierrez explicitly states that the Legal and Global Affairs department will be 'a much smaller organization than it is today, and some of you will personally be affected by decisions we make in this process.'
