Disney Names Melissa Stone Senior Vice President of Publicity

The Walt Disney Studios has appointed Melissa Stone as Senior Vice President of Publicity, overseeing global publicity strategy across its theatrical and streaming businesses. She will lead the studio's publicity team, covering campaigns for Disney Live Action, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios, among others.

Stone brings over two decades of experience in publicity, including 14 years at Fox and Disney. Her campaign credits include films such as 'Avatar: The Way of Water,' 'Lilo & Stitch,' 'The Little Mermaid,' 'Mufasa,' and recent installments in the 'Planet of the Apes' franchise.

The promotion places Stone in a senior marketing role overseeing one of Hollywood's broadest entertainment portfolios. She will report to Martha Morrison, President of Studios Marketing, succeeding Michelle Sewell who recently retired from Disney.
