Disneyland and Walt Disney World are gearing up for major expansions in 2026 and beyond, following the conclusion of their 70th anniversary celebrations. At Disneyland in California, the Avengers Campus is set to double in size with two new rides: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Both attractions, featuring characters like Captain America, Iron Man, and Ms. Marvel, are scheduled to open in 2028. Additionally, the route between Cars Land and Avengers Campus will reopen soon.
Over at Walt Disney World in Florida, four new lands are in development. Villains Land will debut in the Magic Kingdom, offering a roller coaster through Maleficent’s fortress and a dark boat ride inspired by the magic mirror. Construction has also begun on Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios, replacing the old Muppets area with a suspended roller coaster and new shows featuring Mike and Sulley. This land is expected to open in 2027.
Other upcoming attractions include Piston Peak, a Cars-themed land at the Magic Kingdom, and Tropical Americas Land at Animal Kingdom, which will feature an Encanto-themed attraction and a hand-carved animal carousel. Meanwhile, a new Coco ride is under construction at California Adventure, set to open near Pixar Pier.
Disney has also updated the Soarin’ attractions at California Adventure and Epcot with a US-themed makeover, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. The new Soarin’ Across America showcases iconic American landmarks and landscapes.
