Disney Prepares Fourth Round of Layoffs in 2026, Targeting Support Functions
Disney is reportedly cutting staff again before October, marking the fourth round of layoffs in 2026. According to sources, this latest reduction will target roles in human resources, product and technology, and operations functions.
The cuts are said to be smaller compared to previous rounds, which affected marketing, corporate functions, ESPN, film studios, and Disney Entertainment Television. This new round is not expected to impact the parks and experiences division, which accounts for most of the company's 233,000 employees worldwide.
Disney has declined to comment on the matter, but the timing suggests that the cuts are intended to be reflected in the company's fiscal year-end numbers, which will be reported at its next earnings call in November.
