Disney Reveals New Attractions and Updates for Theme Parks
At the D23 Disney Experiences Showcase, held at the Honda Center in Anaheim on August 15, 2026, Disney announced several new updates to its theme parks. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the event was live-streamed on Disney+ for those who couldn't attend in person.
The first major announcement came from Disneyland Resort, where the Remember... Dreams Come True fireworks display will be returning in February 2027 with refreshed projections. Additionally, California Adventure will see an updated version of World of Color, and the Magic Happens parade will make its comeback by summer.
Moving on to Walt Disney World, Harris showcased concept art for the revamped Carousel of Progress. Set to open in late spring 2027, the new show features voice acting from Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston as Mother and Father.
Finally, Tokyo Disney Resort received updates on two new attractions: Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, a reimagined version of the old Buzz Lightyear ride, set to open in the spring of 2027; and Space Mountain Earthrise, an all-new indoor roller coaster scheduled for release sometime in 2027.
