Disney has announced plans to revive its iconic animatronic yeti at Walt Disney World's Expedition Everest, a move that is part of the company's efforts to focus on fan-centric investments in its parks and resorts.

The yeti, affectionately known as 'Disco Yeti' due to its malfunctioning strobe-light effect, was once the largest and most complex audio-animatronic figure created by Walt Disney Imagineering. However, it broke down shortly after the attraction opened in 2006 and has since been stationary.

Thomas Mazloum, chairman of Disney Experiences, made the announcement at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, where about 12,000 Disney fans were in attendance. Mazloum also revealed plans to restore other fan-favorite attractions, including Dreamfinder and Figment at Epcot in Florida.

The company has committed $60 billion to its Experiences division over a decade, with the investment covering new attractions, lands, cruise ships, and other developments. Disney reported a 10% increase in revenue from its domestic parks in the third quarter, generating nearly $10 billion.
