Disney Scoops Up Former Yamaha HQ in $115M Deal
Disney has acquired Yamaha's former headquarters in Orange County, California for $115.29 million as part of its plans to expand and grow its operations in the area.
The 25-acre campus, which includes nearly 279,000 square feet of industrial, flex-warehouse, and office space, will be used by Disney for 'back-of-house operations,' including laundry and costuming, according to a statement from the company.
This acquisition comes as Yamaha prepares to relocate its US headquarters to Kennesaw, Georgia, a move that has been touted by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp as evidence of his state's business-friendly climate.
Disney stated that the property will support its long-term operational needs and help with its continued growth and evolving business needs. The company has no plans to turn the site into another theme-park attraction.
