Disney Signs Overall Deal with Shawn Levy and 21 Laps Entertainment

Shawn Levy and his production company, 21 Laps Entertainment, have signed an overall TV deal with Disney's 20th Television. The agreement, which will take effect in October 2027, marks a return to Disney for Levy, who started his career directing television episodes for the network.

Levy is best known for creating 'Stranger Things' with the Duffer Brothers, but that property and its spinoff will remain at Netflix. As part of his deal with 20th Television, he will develop and produce series across Disney's global portfolio of leading platforms and brands.

'Years before I directed movies, I started my career directing and producing television episodes for Disney Channel,' Levy said in a statement. 'I've always felt a kindred spirit in Disney and their storytelling ethos.'

Levy has had an ongoing relationship with Disney on the feature side, including directing Marvel's 'Deadpool & Wolverine' film. He is also set to direct Lucasfilm's upcoming 'Star Wars: Starfighter,' starring Ryan Gosling.
