Disney Stock Dips Again Amid Ongoing Job Cuts

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) is experiencing another decline in its stock price. This drop can be attributed to recent layoffs within the company, which have been ongoing for some time.

Last year, Disney eliminated around 1,000 roles in April, and several hundred more jobs were cut in the past year. In 2023, under then-CEO Bob Iger, the company reduced its workforce by 7,000 positions as part of a $5.5 billion cost-cutting push.

The latest job cuts are specifically within the human resources and technology teams, with around several hundred positions being eliminated. This news comes amidst notable turnover in Disney's executive ranks under CEO Josh D'Amaro, who took over in March.
