Disney Strikes Near Deals Worth Billions With Comcast, Time Warner
The Walt Disney Company is reportedly close to striking new deals with two major cable TV operators, Comcast Corp. and Time Warner Cable.
Under the agreements, Disney could collect billions of dollars by supplying its popular ESPN sports channel and other content to these providers.
In addition, Philadelphia-based Comcast may buy Disney's 39.5% stake in E! Entertainment Television for around $1.2 billion.
